Field GIS Australia was established by director Dr Nick McClean in 2015. "Over the last 5 years we've worked closely with Dr Nick McClean, and he's helped us develop our cultural heritage programme, research our local freshwater turtles, and develop GIS training workshops with our ranger group. Our rangers have learnt valuable technical skills that we use running our business every day. We've also been able to build our understanding of field research and our capacity to work with researchers, government agencies and private sector clients. I can recommend this course to any Indigenous or community based organisation who wants to learn in a field based, inclusive way." Rob Boota, Owner/General manager Githabul Indigenous Rangers/Border Ranges Contractors, Kyogle NSW. |
